My name is Camilla Garibaldi, founder of Morena Bonita.
Morena Bonita was born from a simple idea and a big dream.
When I was 19 years old, I went on a beach trip in Brazil and couldn't find bikinis that truly matched my style. I wanted something different, something that felt confident, feminine, and uniquely me. That's when I had a thought:
"What if I create my own bikinis?"
With little experience but a lot of determination, I started researching fabrics, patterns, and production. I invested the equivalent of about $150 that I had saved from selling personalized jewelry and began building what would eventually become Morena Bonita.
The name came from a conversation with my grandmother. As I shared my idea with her, she smiled and said:
"Why don't you call it Morena Bonita? You're a beautiful brunette."
The name stayed, and so did the dream.
I launched my first collection with just 10 bikinis, photographed by my family and promoted through social media. To my surprise, most of them sold almost immediately.
What started in my bedroom eventually grew into a small atelier, serving customers across Brazil. Over the years, Morena Bonita reached women in nearly every Brazilian state, always with the same mission: creating bikinis that help women feel confident, beautiful, and empowered.
Today, Morena Bonita begins a new chapter in the United States.
Our focus remains the same: Brazilian-designed bikinis made to celebrate confidence, sunshine, and the beauty of feeling comfortable in your own skin.
